THEY [THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS] JUST DON'T GIVE UP!

For My Good Friend, (and all others, who may have misunderstood this deceptive sign on Facebook and the internet) 

First of all, this nation is not a Democracy, it IS a Constitutional Republic.  The “Make Everyone’s Vote Count Equally---Eliminate the Electoral College”, (that was posted on Facebook) is pure bullshit.

Our Founding Fathers understood the importance of each state having a say in electing a President, not just the most populated areas.  Here’s a short synopsis of the Founder’s intentions:

"The Constitutional Convention of 1787 considered several methods of electing the President, including selection by Congress, by the governors of the states, by the state legislatures, by a special group of Members of Congress chosen by lot, and by direct popular election. Late in the convention, the matter was referred to the Committee of Eleven on Postponed Matters, which devised the electoral college system in its original form. This plan, which met with widespread approval by the delegates, was incorporated into the final document with only minor changes. It sought to reconcile differing state and federal interests, provide a degree of popular participation in the election, give the less populous states some additional leverage in the process by providing “senatorial” electors, preserve the presidency as independent of Congress, and generally insulate the election process from political manipulation."  (more at this link)

In short, if the Electoral College was eliminated, 1) Presidential candidates would not have to campaign across the entire nation to win delegates/electors from the individual states.  They would simply pour all of their time and money into the most populous regions in the country and ignore the rest of the country, leaving the less populous states with virtually no representation. 2) The most populous areas in this country are on both the east and west coast, (New York, and most of the northeastern seaboard in the east, and San Francisco, Los Angeles in the west).  These two regions ALSO happen to be populated with 90% Liberal Democrats, Socialist, and people who believe in ceding all power to the Federal Government.

If the Electoral College, (EC), was eliminated, just by popular vote alone, these two regions of our nation would outvote the rest of the individual states COMBINED, and run our government.  Liberal Democrats understand they would have all the power without the EC.

To our dear Liberal Democrat friends, it’s all about power and control, not the wishes of the entire nation or equal representation, hence this phony, and deceptive “Make Everyone’s Vote Count Equally”.  There is NOTHING EQUAL about their intentions to gut our Constitution and the Bill of Rights, (starting with the 1st & 2nd Amendments), and then moving on to eliminate any law that does not fit their warped Liberal Ideology.
